White Fleet Duisburg | Harbor Tour & Tickets

The White Fleet Duisburg is the most direct way for many guests to experience the Duisburg harbor up close. The journey begins at the Schwanentor dock at Calaisplatz 3, leading into a harbor landscape that is considered the largest inland port in the world, featuring its basins, cranes, warehouses, and water areas, making it one of the most defining industrial and experiential spaces in the region. This blend of working world, city history, and relaxed shipping is what makes the White Fleet appealing: you sit comfortably, look over the water, and see Duisburg from a perspective that is not possible from the shore. The company's office is located on the upper deck of the houseboat MS Nostalgie right at the Schwanentor dock, so ticket purchase, information, and boarding come together in one place for many guests. The fleet offers classic harbor tours as well as special trips, themed tours, and charter options for private or business occasions. Those looking for a location that combines Ruhr area character, water views, and an event feeling will find a unique address here. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

Particularly interesting is the clear focus on experiences rather than mere transport services. The official website describes the trips as round trips and special trips in a program that takes place throughout the year and regularly features culinary, musical, and festive themes. This includes brunch trips, breakfast buffets, coffee tables, party trips, and trips to fireworks moments in Düsseldorf. For visitors, the White Fleet is therefore not just a starting point for a harbor round, but also a planned destination for excursions, celebrations, and special days on the water. The location at Calaisplatz is practical: it is close to the city center, important traffic routes, and other points in the center, yet close enough to the water to immediately immerse oneself in the harbor atmosphere. This creates a place that works both touristically and locally and continually reinvents itself beyond the regular harbor tour. Duisburg Harbor Tour: Schedule, Routes, and Daily Experience

The core service of the White Fleet Duisburg is the classic harbor tour through the Duisburg harbor. For the current season 2026, the official schedule indicates fixed departure times that vary by season and day of the week. In the pre-season from March 7 to March 27, 2026, the ships depart from Schwanentor on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays at 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM, with an additional departure from Schifferbörse on Wednesdays at 12:15 PM. In the main season from March 28 to November 1, 2026, the offer expands: from Schwanentor, departures are available from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays at 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:00 PM; from Schifferbörse, trips take place from Tuesday to Friday at 12:15 PM and 2:45 PM. The post-season and pre-season focus again more on weekend and holiday dates. This makes the harbor tour well-planned and at the same time flexible for spontaneous excursions. The official duration of the classic round trip is two hours. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

Content-wise, this trip is much more than just a leisurely round on the water. The city of Duisburg describes the tour as the best way to experience the industrial heart of the city up close. On board a comfortable excursion ship, guests glide past container terminals, warehouses, cranes, and shipyards, accompanied by information and views of the harbor area. This visual dramaturgy is a strong feature of the White Fleet Duisburg: the tour does not show an idealized river backdrop but a vibrant working landscape with large perspectives, technical facilities, and a clear regional identity. Those who want to connect the Ruhr area, port economy, or city experience will find a tour with high recognition value here. Dogs are also welcome on the scheduled trips, which is an important practical point for many excursionists. The round trip is therefore suitable for tourists as well as locals who want to rediscover their city from the water. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

The harbor tour is also intentionally designed as a low-threshold day experience. The schedule is clear, the travel time is well-defined, and the departure points are centrally located. This makes it easy to combine the tour with city visits, restaurant appointments, or other sights. The White Fleet Duisburg thus meets a core desire of many visitors: a form of experience that works without complicated planning but still leaves a strong impression. The combination of seasonal departure times, clearly calculable duration, and the unmistakable harbor landscape ensures that the round trip does not feel like just a means of transport but like a program point with character. So, anyone looking for a classic harbor tour in Duisburg will find an established, well-explained, and regularly offered option with direct city reference. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

Tickets, Prices, and Group Discounts

When it comes to tickets, the White Fleet Duisburg is very transparent. The official schedule lists an adult price of €22.00 for the classic harbor tour, children aged 4 to 13 pay €11.00. Families can choose between a family ticket for two adults and up to three children for €49.00 and a small family ticket for one adult and up to three children for €39.00. Dogs cost €4.00, excluding service dogs. Additionally, there are group discounts starting from 10 people and even cheaper conditions from 40 people. For guests with a severe disability ID and the B mark, one accompanying person can also join for free. This clearly and understandably shows the pricing structure: there is a standard rate, but also good options for families, groups, and people with special needs. ([hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://www.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/hafenrundfahrt-duisburg/linienprogramm/))

In addition to the scheduled trips, the White Fleet Duisburg points out a number of special trips that vary in price depending on the occasion. The annual program for 2026 includes, for example, a harbor tour with breakfast buffet, Bergische coffee table, ship tour to Kaiserswerth, party trips, and fireworks trips. This shows that tickets are not only sold for a single standard route but for a whole spectrum of maritime experience formats. Those who plan early can specifically look for the right occasion: in the morning for a breakfast trip, at noon for a classic harbor round, or in the evening for an event with music, buffet, or fireworks. The official ticket shop collects these offers in one place and makes it easy to compare the different formats. This is particularly interesting for visitors who are looking for not just a city tour but a concrete experience with date, time, and added value. ([shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/?utm_source=openai))

Practically important is also the ticket organization on site. The office is located on the upper deck of the houseboat MS Nostalgie right at the Schwanentor dock, and the ticket counter for tickets for immediate boarding is usually open half an hour before departure times. So, if you arrive without an online booking, you will find a clear on-site logic. The regular office hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, except on public holidays; on weekends, the office is only sporadically reachable by phone. For planning, this means: tickets can be easily secured online in advance, but spontaneous decisions are also possible as long as you consider the opening hours and boarding time frame. Especially for special trips, an early look in the shop is advisable, as themed evenings, holiday trips, and seasonal highlights are often quickly in demand. Access, Boarding, and Parking at Schwanentor

Access to the White Fleet Duisburg is relatively easy thanks to the central location at Calaisplatz, but there is an important difference between the docking station and the surrounding area when it comes to parking. According to official information from the University of Duisburg-Essen, the dock at Calaisplatz itself has no parking. At the same time, there are street parking spaces nearby as well as several parking garages, so arriving by car remains possible if you plan a bit in advance. For navigation, the address White Fleet Harbor Tour Duisburg, Calaisplatz 3, 47051 Duisburg is provided. This is helpful because the name of the location and the geographical point Schwanentor are often used together in everyday life. Therefore, those arriving by car should not only pay attention to the exact address but also allow some time for parking. This information is particularly relevant for evening trips, special trips, and weekend appointments. ([uni-due.de](https://www.uni-due.de/imperia/md/content/nts/directions_to_the_social_events_v3.pdf))

Traveling by public transport is also quite feasible. The university's directions describe that the harbor dock is conveniently reachable by tram and that there is a short walk from the city center. Additionally, the city of Duisburg emphasizes that the boarding at the Schwanentor dock is barrier-free. For guests with mobility restrictions, this provides very concrete guidance. For first-time visitors, it is also important that boarding at Schifferbörse is only possible with an online ticket, and participation with RUHR.TOPCARD only works from Schwanentor. This clarifies why the central docking station at Calaisplatz is often the best starting point in many cases. Boarding and service are most clearly organized there, and the office on the MS Nostalgie is located right next to it. ([uni-due.de](https://www.uni-due.de/imperia/md/content/nts/directions_to_the_social_events_v3.pdf))

For the actual boarding, there is also a clear time logic: boarding usually begins half an hour before departure. This reduces stress and makes the process planable, especially for groups or families. Those who arrive on time can check tickets, orient themselves, and organize boarding in a relaxed manner. This is particularly sensible on heavily frequented days because the location at Schwanentor is central but not infinitely large. The official communication of the White Fleet Duisburg therefore relies on a mix of advance information, online sales, and clear service times on site. This creates a process that, while uncomplicated, still rewards a bit of preparation. Those who think about parking search, boarding time, and ticket purchase together will experience the harbor tour much more relaxed. ([shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/?utm_source=openai))

Ships, Capacity, and Onboard Facilities

The White Fleet Duisburg operates with a clearly defined passenger fleet. The official fleet page presents the ships Gerhard Mercator and Stadt Duisburg. Both are licensed for up to 250 people, making the company a relevant provider for larger groups, family trips, and event formats. Gerhard Mercator dates back to 1988, was built at the Meidericher shipyard, and measures 44.60 meters in length and 8.20 meters in width. Stadt Duisburg was built in 1963, comes from the Gustavsburg Mainz shipyard, and measures 35.07 meters in length and 6.85 meters in width. These data show that the fleet includes both a more modern and a more traditional type of ship. For visitors, this means an attractive mix of technical performance, maritime atmosphere, and regional continuity. ([hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://www.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/ueber-uns/flotte/))

The interior and exterior areas are also clearly structured. For Gerhard Mercator, the website lists, among other things, a lower deck with about 130 covered seats, an upper deck with about 100 seats, and an outdoor deck with about 100 seats. Stadt Duisburg has a lower deck with about 120 covered seats and an outdoor deck with about 140 seats. Additionally, there are technical details such as different engine systems, rudder propellers, and an additional bow thruster on Gerhard Mercator. For guests, not every technical detail is crucial, but it illustrates that the ships are designed not only to be decorative but also for regular passenger transport and various uses. This also explains why the White Fleet Duisburg can offer both classic harbor tours and themed trips and charter trips. The ships are therefore not just means of transport but the actual stage of the experience. ([hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://www.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/ueber-uns/flotte/))

The city of Duisburg additionally describes the trip as an experience across multiple decks with panoramic views, salon areas, and onboard gastronomy. This mix makes the stay on board attractive for many visitors: you can stand, sit, stay indoors in the salon, or go outside to the open decks. This makes the trip suitable for guests who do not want to spend the entire journey in the same area. The capacity of up to 250 people per ship helps to realistically plan private groups, club outings, or corporate events. At the same time, the size remains manageable enough not to feel like a mass ship. The White Fleet Duisburg positions itself between comfortable excursion shipping and a professional event location on the water. This is a strong unique selling point in the regional market. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

Special Trips to Düsseldorf, Kaiserswerth, and Event Themes

A key reason why the White Fleet Duisburg is relevant beyond the pure harbor tour lies in the special trip program. The official website and shop regularly highlight themed trips, brunch formats, party offers, and seasonal events. These include, among others, dancing into May, harbor tours with breakfast buffet, Bergische coffee tables, kale trips, Nikolaus trips, and Christmas parties. The program makes it clear that the company not only serves the classic Duisburg harbor round but organizes a wide range of experiential occasions on the water. For inquiries related to White Fleet Duisburg Düsseldorf, it is especially important that trips related to the state capital are also offered, such as to the fairground fireworks in Düsseldorf or the New Year's Eve trip in front of the Düsseldorf old town. This opens the location towards the Rhine metropolis and connects Duisburg with a regional event radius. ([shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/?utm_source=openai))

Particularly striking are the thematic trips with culinary or musical focus. The official annual program includes, for example, the ship tour to Kaiserswerth as well as various breakfast and brunch formats. The shop explicitly describes the special trips as monthly changing experiences with culinary delights and drinks on board. Additionally, parties such as Depeche Mode, 80s and 90s evenings, or Schlager move boat parties position the ships as floating event venues. The Japanese fireworks are also highlighted; here the website refers to the Japan weeks in Düsseldorf and the long-standing connection to the city. Such trips show how flexible the concept of the White Fleet is: the same fleet can be a brunch ship in the morning and a party or fireworks trip in the evening. For planners, groups, and gift buyers, this is a significant advantage as occasions can be selected very specifically. ([shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://shop.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/?utm_source=openai))

The role as an event and charter location is also officially anchored. The website explains that information on renting the ship as an event location can be obtained there. Together with the high number of people per ship and the clear passenger structures, this makes the White Fleet Duisburg a realistic option for corporate celebrations, anniversaries, or private events. The combination of water location, onboard gastronomy, and planable departures is particularly attractive for groups looking for an experience with clear logistics. The fact that the ships are located directly at Schwanentor also facilitates the organization of arrivals and departures, especially when guests come from Duisburg, Düsseldorf, or the wider Ruhr area. For the user, this creates not only a leisure location but a versatile format for day and evening events. This is why the White Fleet Duisburg often appears in inquiries both under harbor tour and under event location, tickets, fireworks, and Düsseldorf. ([hafenrundfahrt.nrw](https://www.hafenrundfahrt.nrw/ueber-uns/buero-und-verkauf/))

Dogs, Accessibility, Onboard Gastronomy, and Practical Tips

For practical visitor comfort, the White Fleet Duisburg offers several clear advantages. Dogs are welcome on the scheduled trips, and the official price for dogs is transparently stated. People with a severe disability ID and the B mark are allowed to bring one accompanying person for free. The boarding at the Schwanentor dock is barrier-free. These three points are very important together because they make the round trip significantly easier for families, couples with dogs, and guests with limited mobility. Those looking for an excursion location that is not limited to a very narrow guest segment will find a good level of accessibility here. The option to buy tickets on-site or online also increases usability. This is especially helpful when a visit is planned spontaneously or when a group has different arrival times. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

Additionally, onboard gastronomy is an important part of the experience. The city of Duisburg explicitly describes the trip with onboard gastronomy, and the official shop refers to culinary delights and drinks on board. The program includes breakfast buffets, brunch trips, coffee tables, and themed trips where food and drink are consciously part of the product. This is not only pleasant for many guests but also crucial for choosing the right trip. Those looking for a relaxed round with drinks, cake, or buffet are just as right here as someone who wants to enjoy the pure view. Furthermore, the company also provides service and information points on-site: the office on the houseboat MS Nostalgie is open Monday to Friday, and the ticket counter usually starts half an hour before departure. This makes planning transparent and service-oriented. ([duisburg.de](https://www.duisburg.de/tourismus/stadt_erleben/fuehrungen_und_rundfahrten/hafenrundfahrt))

In the end, the White Fleet Duisburg is in high demand precisely because it meets multiple needs simultaneously. The location combines harbor views, regional identity, well-explained prices, and a broad range of trips with classic excursion shipping. Those who want to experience Duisburg from the water, book a special trip highlight, or look for an event location with character will find a very clear address at Calaisplatz. The mix of central location, planable departures, well-known special trips, and an impressive harbor backdrop makes the White Fleet one of the most distinctive water experiences in the city. Especially in conjunction with Düsseldorf, Kaiserswerth, and the large event trips, it becomes clear that this location is much more than just a simple dock: it is a firmly anchored part of the regional leisure and event culture.

⭐Boarding was straightforward. I showed the digital ticket along with my Ruhr Topcard. ⭐The bistro on board serves a decent menu of drinks (cold and hot, soft and alcoholic), cakes, and little bites. Well-staffed. Card payment accepted. ⭐A 25ºC day feels like 15ºC. Wind, being close to water. Wise folks on my boat brought blankets, padded jackets, and scarves. I wish I did. ⭐Key sites are pointed out along the way, with numbers and fun facts.

Around 15 euro per person for a two-hour round trip. One and a half euro less if you are a group of 10 people. In nice weather, you can really sit back and enjoy the lovely breeze on top of the ship. It wasn't too crowded, so it was enjoyable. Since the surrounding area is industry-based, you see more cranes and container-type stuff on the bank.

I was very disappointed. There was a large group of people around us that wouldn’t stop talking very loudly. I think it was a company outing. I was interested in the largest Binnenhafen in the World and couldn’t hear one word. Explaining it to one of the employees didn’t help.

It is worth taking a trip, but the upper deck needs good ventilation and air circulation...
