very good place for learning art

The lessons themselves were good, but at some point our son lost interest, and we deregistered him. Then, despite a very long notice period, we continued paying for another six months. Today we received an email to schedule a class after the summer holidays. When we registered, we were told (in writing!) that the teacher would contact us to schedule a class. This didn't happen. Instead, our son was simply assigned to a class that didn't fit our schedule. The administration is simply terrible. Emails always contain errors (our son's name isn't inserted, but rather placeholders), and you don't get a personalized response. No one is available by phone (during service hours), and you can't leave a message on the answering machine. If you point out errors, they are ignored. I'm curious whether we'll actually have to pay again after the holidays for a class our son hasn't attended for over six months. Absolutely terrible organization.

Today was an open house in Duisburg-Hamborn and Duisburg-Buchholz. It was very disappointing. I wanted to learn about improvisation with modern keys. Unfortunately, no one was available in Hamborn at the advertised time, and in Buchholz, other people were given priority, and I was completely ignored. A shame.

The administration has really caught up this year. I'm absolutely satisfied – the space is good too!... Parking is good too... As for the lessons – although it's all about individual impressions... not every teacher is equally good for everyone, and I only know my teacher. But this one adapts to the students' needs, is approachable, listens, finds ways to learn, and is patient... I also think it's good that there are still many permanent positions here. When I consider the situation of music teachers and the many private music schools where you usually only get a pittance, you should really boycott other music schools and attend this school with well-trained teachers when you need them. Prices have just gone up by about 5% – actually too little, considering how prices have risen elsewhere...!!!

We now have a good guitar teacher, and the choir director is very dedicated and competent. The previous flute teacher was a complete disaster, and the dance teacher they employed at the time never showed up. I also spent ages chasing after my money. Because of the negative experiences I had at the beginning, I can still only give 3 stars, although I'm now leaning towards 4.
