Good collection of modern arts, from a number of artists. Staff is really friendly and helpful ✨ they are really patient with the visitors. Very relaxing experience.

The curators need to figure out how to match Herzog and de Meuron's Gesamtkunstwerk as the architecture is overpowering the art.

These spaces beat all the MoMA experiences I’ve had across the US for the following reasons: ⭐ Stunning juxtapositions. While the red brick outer walls stand proudly to remind visitors of the industrial past, the minimalistic interiors of plain walls with no frills frame the modern artworks powerfully. The broad horizontal walls are punctuated by slender window slits. ⭐ Bridge. The silo, now cut through, houses the bridges that connect the two major wings of exhibition spaces. The symbolism is potent. The whole museum is a bridge of the past and present. ⭐ Three artists that I personally liked a lot. Gotthard Graubner, Gerhard Richter, and K.O. Götz. ⭐ The translations are done superbly. Reading the wall texts is a joy. ⭐ The staff was friendly to me. I had a few chance dialogues with different staff members. ⭐ The waterfront location really adds to the experience. The serene ripples are integrated into the visitor experience through the deep-set narrow window slits. ⭐⭐⭐ Did I mention the iconic stairwell??? I call it a man-made antelope canyon.

Very nice museum with loads to see and explore. Some fascinating pieces and I had lots of fun viewing the art. The building itself is also beautiful and great to look at. The ticket I had which let you go onto multiple floors was 12 euros. Great that they had both German and English description boards for the artists, which was useful for tourists. However getting a ticket was difficult as they do not accept MasterCard or Amex, then the machine did not work for my visa which they say they do accept. So I had to walk 10 mins to the nearest ATM, annoying for tourists to limit the card reader so much.

These so-called staff tried to shut the museum at 5:48 PM and kicked me out. I argued that tickets should be valid until 6 PM, these guys rudely kick people out because they want to get off earlier. That’s not fair for visitors like me who have bought the tickets! And they shouted aloud to evacuate visitors! The staff I mentioned is about the slim guy in this photo and another gorilla.
