Of course, it’s relaxing in the Friemersheim nature reserve on the Rhine floodplain. On the opposite side of the Rhine, there’s a lot of industry. This contrast is what makes it fascinating. A little anecdote: Over 40 years ago, we used to camp and grill in the Rhine floodplain. Hard to imagine today. 🙃

A beautiful place, the old village with a church, school, and surrounding farms, even a restaurant that has unfortunately been closed for a while! Another highlight is the lovely Rhine meadow where you can take long walks, even all the way to Ürdingen! We always take a break here, there are plenty of benches when we pass by on our bikes from Moers!

The old village of Friemersheim by the village church is always a particularly beautiful ensemble to look at and linger. It has a somewhat museum-like quality.
