When Ruhrort Tells Its Own Future
On November 27, 2026, the PLUS at Neumarkt in Duisburg-Ruhrort will transform into an open stage space for lived memories, current questions, and possible futures. Future Shapers by IG Home Game 2.0 combines improvisational theater with the biographical stories and future visions of the people from Ruhrort.
Improvisation as a Common Thinking Space
This production does not follow a rigid script. From the stories of Ruhrort residents of different generations, the performers develop lively scenes between past, present, and future. The dramaturgy remains flexible, attentive, and immediate – every twist grows from the moment.
The Audience Becomes Part of the Action
At the center of the theatrical atmosphere is the active participation of the audience. Questions about life in the neighborhood, urban change, and personal visions of the future are not only discussed, but brought into motion on stage. Positions from the audience can shape the course of improvisation and give the stage experience a special intimacy.
Ruhrort Between Memory and New Beginnings
The acting art of IG Home Game 2.0 makes urban development a sensual experience. Past places, today's challenges, and visionary images enter into a theatrical dialogue. The stage design primarily arises from language, body, acoustics, and the imagination of those present. From a few impulses, scenes, figures, and atmospheres grow – surprising, humorous, and socially aware.
An Evening for Curious City Dwellers
As an interactive improvisational theater project, Future Shapers is aimed at everyone who wants to experience Ruhrort from new perspectives. The production connects local identity with questions that concern many urban spaces: How does a neighborhood change? Which stories remain? And what future emerges when people tell it together?
Conclusion: Future Shapers promises an immediate stage experience, where past, present, and future interact anew in every moment. Those who want to not only observe theater but also shape it will experience a special evening full of audience intimacy, surprising scenes, and urban imagination at the PLUS at Neumarkt.
