Winter Running Series 2027: Duisburg runs away from winter
On January 23, 2027, the 42nd Winter Running Series of ASV Duisburg starts at the Sportpark Duisburg. The running classic in the Ruhr area combines athletic ambition, thrilling stadium atmosphere, and a shared running experience on measured routes.
The kickoff with speed and endurance
The first series day opens the three-part running series with several competitions. The Short Series features 5 kilometers. The start takes place in two waves at 14:00 and 14:30. The Long Series starts at 15:00 over 10 kilometers. Additionally, there are competitions for young runners over 1 and 2 kilometers starting at 13:00 and 13:30 respectively.
Measured routes and precise timing
The 10-kilometer route is officially measured by DLV and marks the beginning of the Long Series. A bib number with an integrated transponder ensures electronic timing. Those aiming for their personal best will find an experienced pacer team on the route with target times of 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45 hours.
Running experience in Sportpark Duisburg
The start area is located on Margarethenstraße in front of the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena. The finish line leads into the Duisburg athletics stadium. Crowd noise, fan chants, and the rhythm of many steps shape the atmosphere as the runners implement their strategy between controlled starting pace, consistent rhythm, and strong final sprint.
Entry fee and registration
The entry fee for adults is graduated based on the registration date, starting at 60 euros. Youth up to the year 2008 pay 40 euros for the series, and the youth series costs 30 euros. Registration for the Winter Running Series 2027 is open. The bib number is valid for all three real races of the series.
Conclusion: Together through the cold season
The 42nd Winter Running Series of ASV Duisburg offers ambitious runners, young talents, and experienced endurance athletes a strong season opener. Experience the excitement of the finish line, the energy of the running community, and the unique charm of a winter race live in Duisburg.
