The Biegerparklauf is back: Running classic with new energy
After a seven-year break, Duisburg will see the return of the 36th Biegerparklauf on November 14, 2026. In Biegerpark, youth races, a 5-kilometer competition, and a 10-kilometer race will meet a family stadium atmosphere filled with fan chants, field excitement, and real running enthusiasm.
From Bambini run to the ten-kilometer distance
The competition day starts at 12:00 PM with the races for students. At 1:15 PM, the 400 meters for Bambinis aged four to seven will follow. The 5-kilometer run starts at 1:45 PM, before the 10-kilometer competition shapes the sporting finale at 3:15 PM.
The course is a loop through Biegerpark. The 5-kilometer runners will complete two laps, while the 10-kilometer distance includes three laps. The last 300 meters lead onto the clay track of the stadium, providing a striking final sprint in front of the audience.
Tactics, pace, and the race against the clock
On the varied terrain, smart race management counts. In the front field, pace management determines the stamina for the last laps, while ambitious amateur runners seek their rhythm between the park paths and stadium track. Professional gross time measurement is done via a transponder in the start number.
A race for multiple generations
The Biegerparklauf combines sporting ambition with club life. All Bambinis and students will receive a medal. Trophies await the best young runners in each category and the overall winners in the 5 and 10 kilometers. Additionally, medals will be awarded in age categories. Certificates will be available for all participants.
Entry fee and organization
The entry fee is 4 euros for Bambinis, 6 euros for age categories U10 to U16, 10 euros for U18 and U20, and 14 euros for adults. The issuance of start numbers begins on the event day at 11:00 AM. Late registrations are possible up to 30 minutes before the respective start; from November 12, 2026, a late registration fee of 2 euros will apply.
Showers, changing rooms, and restrooms will be available in the sports hall. A medical service will accompany the event. The timing and results display will be handled by race|result.
What visitors can expect
The 36th Biegerparklauf brings together competition dynamics, club closeness, and the special energy of a fresh start. Those who experience the race live will feel the audience noise at the stadium track, see the last forces in the final sprint, and experience Duisburg's running culture up close.
