Open Studio in Duisburg: Materials Become Art
On December 1, 2026, the Hochfeld Art and Culture Studio will open its doors for an immediate art experience. From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, a creative space will be created where children, families, and art enthusiasts can experiment with paper, wire, and concrete.
Aesthetic Experience with Paper, Wire, and Concrete
The three materials offer different ways of experiencing and shaping artworks. Paper appears light and versatile, wire introduces lines, tension, and spatial movement, while concrete, with its compact materiality and rough surface, sets a striking contrast.
Cultural Education Through Personal Creation
The Open Studio combines workshop, exhibition, and museum educational access. Art is not seen here as a distant object but as a process: forms are developed, surfaces are felt, and ideas are directly translated into one's own works. The open atmosphere fosters concentration, curiosity, and personal expression.
Artwork Observation and Creative Processes
The focus is on the encounter with material, form, and space. Simple materials can become sculptural objects, material images, and small sculptures. The aesthetic experience lies equally in doing and observing: each work makes decisions about composition, structure, and surface visible.
Free Admission and Indoors
The event takes place in the indoor spaces of the Hochfeld Art and Culture Studio. Admission is free. Thus, the studio offers an accessible approach to visual art and invites participants to experience cultural education practically and collaboratively.
Conclusion: Discovering Art for Yourself
The Open Studio promises an inspiring exhibition atmosphere, immediate material experiences, and creative impulses for young visitors as well as families. Those who want to not just observe art but experience it with their own hands will find an open place for aesthetic experience and collaborative creation here.
