Open Studio in Duisburg: Colors Turn into Personal Works of Art

On December 19, 2026, the Hochfelder Art and Culture Atelier will open its doors for a creative event experience with acrylic and watercolors. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, individual pictures and colorful artworks will be created on canvas, paper, or wood.

Creativity without Performance Pressure

In the open studio, trying things out is the main focus. With brushes, paint, and various surfaces, children, families, and art enthusiasts discover their personal creative possibilities. Acrylic paints appear intense and opaque, while watercolors allow for transparent color gradients and light compositions.

Canvas, Paper, and Wood as a Creative Playground

Each surface offers a unique artistic experience: expressive images are created on canvas, paper invites spontaneous color ideas, and wood gives the works a special tactile quality. The open organization creates space for personal motifs, new techniques, and individual results.

Workshop Atmosphere in the Hochfelder Atelier

The Hochfelder Art and Culture Atelier is located in the former Sisters' House St. Peter and sees itself as a place where everyone can express their creativity. The event combines cultural education, collaborative creation, and a relaxed event atmosphere. This event experience is aimed at people who want to not only view art but also create it themselves.

For Children, Families, and Curious Creatives

The Open Studio is particularly suitable for children and families, but also appeals to teenagers, adults, and seniors. The target audience is deliberately open: prior knowledge is not a priority, but rather joy in painting, willingness to experiment, and courage for one's own ideas. Registration is required.
