Spooky Fun Among Books: Halloween in the Library
When the shelves of the central library in Duisburg darken and only small beams of light wander through the rooms, a special family experience begins: During the flashlight rally, children aged 6 and up discover the library from a mysterious perspective.
Exploring with a Flashlight
Equipped with a flashlight, participants go together through the library. Among books, stories, and eerily beautiful impressions, there awaits a child-friendly rally that connects curiosity, orientation, and collective puzzling. Children playfully experience their library as an exciting place for adventure and learning fun.
Age-appropriate and Communal
The event is aimed at families with children aged 6 and up. The joint exploration strengthens communication, concentration, and the independent solving of small tasks. At the same time, there is plenty of room for wonder, children's laughter, and an age-appropriate Halloween atmosphere without unnecessary fright.
A Special Evening in the City Window
The central library is located in the city window and offers a modern quality of stay over three light-flooded floors. For this evening, the familiar cultural venue transforms into a mysterious rally course. Families experience literature, space, and community in an unusual way.
Practical Information for Families
The flashlight rally takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM. The venue is the central library, Steinsche Gasse 26, 47051 Duisburg. Participation is free of charge. Registration with the Duisburg City Library is required.
The family experience combines movement, orientation, and joint discovery. Parents accompany their children through the rally, thereby creating a safe, familiar environment for the exciting Halloween action.
