With KUNSTWERKHALLE3, an extraordinary art experience is created in Duisburg-Wanheimerort: An old industrial hall transforms into a spacious area for painting, sculpture, space installations, readings, and concerts. The cultural festival in the craftsmen's yard showcases contemporary art in an atmosphere that closely connects industrial architecture, artistic freedom, and societal memory.
Industrial backdrop meets contemporary art
About 1,000 square meters of exhibition space provide a broad view of the works by 16 artists. The large-scale hall, its length and width, the rough walls, and the open spatial effect shape perception just as much as the art itself. Here, an exhibition unfolds not as a silent depot, but as a lively contemplation of works in space.
Curated with a personal touch
Initiator and curator Hans-Jürgen Vorsatz brings his experience as a sculptor from Duisburg into this project. The selection of works follows a clear artistic line: Vorsatz positions paintings, sculptures, and installations in such a way that dialogues emerge between the positions. The concept is complemented by contributions that address the 8th of May, the end of World War II.
