One Eye Open brings handcrafted folk sound to BORA Duisburg

On Saturday, February 20, 2027, the Düsseldorf band ONE EYE OPEN will perform at BORA Duisburg. Starting at 8:00 PM, an acoustic concert experience unfolds between folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter music – direct, unadulterated, and full of emotional nuances.

Acoustic Instruments, Great Stories

Acoustic guitar, mandolin, piano, violin, and percussion form the sonic foundation of the four-member band. The arrangements remain transparent and detailed: every mandolin line, every violin bow, and every percussion accent has its own space. This creates a warm, organic sound that fosters closeness and makes the craftsmanship of the musicians audible.

Between Melancholy and New Beginnings

In the lyrics of ONE EYE OPEN, longing, melancholy, and narrative depth meet moments full of energy. The musical language recalls the poetic directness of Dylan Thomas, John Steinbeck, and Tom Waits. Stylistically, the band moves between folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter tradition – with a stage performance that relies not on volume but on atmosphere and lasting impact.

A Band with International Concert Experience

ONE EYE OPEN has played numerous clubs and venues in Germany, toured through Ireland and England, and performed at festivals alongside Liam O’Maonlai of Hothouse Flowers, Justin Sullivan of New Model Army, and Mike Peters of The Alarm. With their eleventh studio album Picture Book, the band has further developed and refined its acoustic style.
