Kapelle Krebs brings unusual Kraut and Rüben rock to Duisburg

On Friday, December 18, 2026, the Steinbruch Duisburg will transform into a stage for a concert filled with quirky humor, unique sound ideas, and uncompromising live energy. Kapelle Krebs represents extravagant, entertaining music beyond fixed genre boundaries.

Seven musicians, a sextet, and no musical corset

Kapelle Krebs describes itself as the only sextet with seven musicians. The formation combines creative intelligence, retrospective song ideas, and pointed lyrics into a distinctive style they call Kraut and Rüben rock. The stage performance thrives on surprising twists, unusual orchestration, and a direct connection to the audience.

From debut album to current concert energy

The debut album Nebenstraßen was released in April 2022. The live EP Neues Kraut und eine coole Rübe was recorded in April 2024 at a sold-out Steinbruch Duisburg. In May 2026, the album Wandelland followed, whose first single Der Kaiser Filou was already released as a video at the end of 2025.

Live atmosphere with quirky lyrics and raw sound

Kapelle Krebs relies on a quirky mix of rock, wordplay, and musical freedom. The songs are almost entirely written by conductor Micha Krebs. His stage experience includes performances with Roger Chapman, Rhino Edwards, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, H-Blockx, and the Georgia Satellites. The sound remains deliberately unpredictable: sometimes edgy and powerful, sometimes playful, always with a sense of timing and surprising musical breaks.
