Marie Hellstein brings Ukrainian indie rock to Duisburg

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the venue Harmonie in Duisburg transforms into an atmospheric gathering place for global music: Marie Hellstein presents her personal blend of indie rock and alternative pop. The concert begins at 8:00 PM and is free of charge as a solidarity hat concert.

Between indie rock, alternative pop, and cinematic soundscapes

Marie Hellstein combines raw, autobiographical lyrics with an agile musical language. Her songs shift between indie rock, alternative pop, pop-punk, and trip-hop. Emotion determines the form: sometimes delicate, almost floating passages emerge, and at other times driving grooves with immediate stage energy.

An artistic personality with theatrical instinct

The Ukrainian singer-songwriter with Jewish and Crimean Tatar roots works interdisciplinarily. In addition to her musical career, she studied acting and puppet theater direction, staged her own productions, and composed music for theater projects. This experience shapes her stage performance: voice, text, gesture, and sound interact like elements of a carefully crafted dramaturgy.

Personal songs with great emotional range

Hellstein's music revolves around love, growing up, belonging, and the search for one's identity. At the age of five, she began taking piano and singing lessons, and at nine, she released her first album. Later, songwriting became a language of self-discovery and an artistic tool to transform experiences into intense soundscapes.

From the Ukrainian music scene to the Duisburg stage

Internationally, Marie Hellstein has made a name for herself through her participation in the Ukrainian Music Lab by Europavox, an IMPF songwriting camp, and the European program POLYGLOT. In 2025, she signed with the Ukrainian label Pomitni. Her concept album SENSORIUM comprises 41 songs and combines indie pop, alternative sounds, poetic lyrics, and musical self-observation.

Live atmosphere at Harmonie

The concert at Harmonie promises a close concert experience with direct audience ambiance. Between clear melodies, organic live instruments, and cinematic orchestration, a sound emerges that combines intimate singer-songwriter moments with the excitement of an alternative pop performance. The artistic production venue in Duisburg-Ruhrort provides the perfect setting for this.

Conclusion: A free concert evening full of Ukrainian sound colors

Marie Hellstein stands for a new, transcendent voice in the Ukrainian music scene. Anyone who wants to experience indie rock, alternative pop, and honest song lyrics in a concentrated live atmosphere should mark October 24, 2026, in their calendar. Admission is free, and donations within the framework of the solidarity hat concert are welcome.
