Christmas, but please with a punchline: Kai Magnus Sting at Steinhof Duisburg
When the Advent season smells of mulled wine and simultaneously sounds suspiciously like satire, Kai Magnus Sting takes the stage. Together with the Piggy Bank Trio, the Duisburg cabaret artist presents his Christmas program Among Santa Clauses at Steinhof Duisburg on December 9, 2026.
Holiday Madness with Ruhr Area Timing
Kai Magnus Sting transforms the small and large absurdities of the Christmas season into pointed cabaret. While the North indulges in Speculoos, the South disappears into cakes, and elsewhere mulled wine develops its own dramaturgy, the festival of all festivals receives a linguistically powerful treatment. The result: stand-up, storytelling, and razor-sharp observational cabaret at a fast pace.
The Piggy Bank Trio Provides the Musical Counterpoint
Together with the Piggy Bank Trio, a varied comedy evening unfolds, where wordplay and music intertwine. Sting's distinctive stage presence meets musical accompaniment, creating a special comedy atmosphere. Between Christmas clichés, surprising thought leaps, and precise timing, there’s hardly any time to recover from the next laugh.
An Evening for Fans of Cabaret and Dark Christmas Humor
Sting is among the experienced voices of the German cabaret scene. The Duisburg native has appeared in formats such as Midnight Peaks, NightWash, and TV total and has been awarded several cabaret and audience prizes. His humor combines linguistic virtuosity, Ruhr area charm, and a keen observation of ordinary holiday madness.
Live at Steinhof Duisburg
Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the show starts at 8:00 PM. At Steinhof, the audience can expect free seating and a laughter experience that thoroughly goes against the grain of the pre-Christmas season. Those who wish to experience Christmas without the sugar coating, but with strong punchlines, will find the right evening here.
Conclusion
Among Santa Clauses promises cabaret with a musical note, sharp timing, and plenty of festive misfires. Kai Magnus Sting and the Piggy Bank Trio bring Advent to chuckles, amazement, and probably also to quiet contradiction. An evening for everyone who loves Christmas – but doesn't accept every Christmas decoration uncritically.
