Herbert Knebels Affentheater brings the Christmas Rock Special to Duisburg
Just before Christmas, when even the Christmas tree is under constant noise, only a good dose of Ruhrpott humor helps. Herbert Knebels Affentheater invites you to the private Christmas Rock Special at Steinhof Duisburg on December 19, 2026 – with pointed cabaret, musical energy, and that gruff stage presence that turns a normal evening into a true laughter experience.
Private, but by no means quiet
At Affentheater private – The Christmas Rock Special, the audience experiences the cult formation without large accessories and with a special focus on their musical qualities. The program combines stand-up elements, Ruhrpott satire, dry everyday observations, and live music. Between sharp timing and mischievous interaction, a comedy atmosphere emerges in which every punchline lands like the last cookie on the Christmas plate.
When cabaret meets rock
Herbert Knebel alias Uwe Lyko has stood for a distinctive artistic figure for decades: an eternally grumbling retiree from the Ruhr area, whose view of the world reliably transforms every everyday situation into a punchline. The character emerged in the 1980s; the first concert of Herbert Knebels Affentheater took place in 1988 at Zeche Carl in Essen. WDR describes Uwe Lyko as an artist who brings his audience to peak form with stage presence, music, and Ruhrpott humor.
An evening with perfect timing
The audience reaction thrives on brief glances, dry comments, and the switch between musical passages and cabaret onslaught. Added to this are numbered seats, an intimate concert atmosphere, and the special charm of an evening that does not cover Christmas with icing, but spices it up with a strong dose of Ruhrpott.
Conclusion: Christmas is allowed to laugh again
Visitors can expect a comedic concert featuring distinctive Ruhrpott humor, musical class, and a Christmas program away from the usual meditation routine. Anyone wanting to laugh heartily, sing along, and sweep the everyday life out of the room before the holidays will experience Herbert Knebels Affentheater best live at Steinhof Duisburg.
